Bad experience but would stay again

The room was great, the lady at the front desk was very nice. My only issue is I checked in, dropped off my stuff, went to get dinner. When I came back I couldn't access my room. After a few attempts we discovered that the batteries in the card reader were dead. The woman was as helpful as she could be but there was no screw driver to access the batteries! She couldn't find it ANYWHERE. She even called emergency maintenance but they never showed up. She had me waiting in another(not stocked) room for several hours until she was able to get into my room. She never had any help from their emergency maintenance or management or whoever had the stupid key! I blame management for this issue, not the front desk attendant.
Step up the cleaning!

Rooms weren't properly cleaned and with a "COVID" promise I expected more.
Staff hid behind the desk and didn't even look up when you approached the desk. Tried to call the desk from my room several times with no answer so couldn't even get them to fix the TV that wasn't working well.

Stayed for a couple cold nights. The heat in the room wasn't working . Notified the staff, but was told maintenance was on sick leave. Would have ask for a different room if iI stayed longer.

I like this hotel brand. The room was clean, comfortable and had nice soap. The night staff was great. There was no breakfast due to C19, so he told me I could get something from the cupboard.
The morning staff was not great. She told me my email was not on file when I asked for my receipt to be sent there, even though I’m an iHG member and made my reservation with my email. I waited for an unnecessary amount of time for a paper receipt, and wasn’t addressed when I approached the desk. I asked if I could spin the points wheel, and she told me “No. Only silver and gold iHG members could spin.” Which was interesting because the night staff let me spin it.
Overall, the stay was nice.
